Queen Jane was pregnant shortly after she married King Henry. Her first pregnancy ended in miscarriage. Henry went above and beyond to keep her happy and comfortable when she became pregnant again. When she craved quail, he had some shipped from Calais and Flanders.

Happily, she gave King Henry what he most wanted; a son and heir, Prince Edward, the future King Edward VI. Her labor was difficult, lasting three days. Although she died from complications of the birth, she was able to present Henry with his most prized gift, his son.
