2. What Is Veteran’s Day?
Veterans Day, observed annually on November 11, is a federal holiday dedicated to honoring all U.S. military veterans for their service and sacrifices. Originally known as Armistice Day, it commemorates the end of World War I on November 11, 1918. In 1954, the holiday was renamed Veterans Day to recognize all veterans who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, regardless of when or where they served.
