10. Australia’s Stolen Generations
From 1910 to 1970, government policies in Australia led to the forcible removal of thousands of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children from their families. These children were placed in institutions or fostered by white families, with the aim of erasing their cultural identities. The lasting trauma and intergenerational pain caused by these policies are still felt within Indigenous communities today.
