10. Germany Signs the Armistice
The Armistice of Compiègne on November 11, 1918, marked the end of World War I.

On November 11, 1918, Germany signed the Armistice of Compiègne, effectively ending World War I. The agreement stipulated the cessation of hostilities on the Western Front, requiring German forces to evacuate occupied territories, including Belgium, France, and Luxembourg, within 15 days. Additionally, Germany was mandated to surrender substantial military equipment, including artillery, machine guns, and aircraft. The armistice marked a significant turning point, leading to the eventual signing of the Treaty of Versailles in 1919, which formally concluded the war. (National WWI Museum and Memorial)
