4. Shipyard Worker & Welder
During World War II, women took on critical roles in shipyards, constructing and welding ships essential for the war effort. They operated heavy machinery and worked with molten metal, often under hazardous conditions. Despite the risks, women became skilled tradespeople, demonstrating remarkable endurance.
