10. Italy and Crimes in Libya
During its colonial rule in Libya, Italy committed mass executions and established concentration camps. In August 2008, Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi apologized to Libya for the damage inflicted during the colonial era and signed a $5 billion investment deal as compensation.
