The Guinness family’s coat of arms, granted to The Rev. Hosea Guinness in 1814, does not include a beer hops motif. Instead, it features a lion rampant on a chief ermine, with a dexter hand couped at the wrist. The crest displays a boar passant, quarterly or and gules.
