Decades ago, college tuition was relatively modest. Many Boomers paid their way through school with part-time jobs and graduated debt-free. Today’s students, however, face tuition rates that have outpaced inflation for years. The College Board reports that the average cost of attending college has ballooned, forcing Millennials to take on burdensome student loans. As a result, higher education, once an attainable milestone, has become a major financial hurdle for young adults today.
