13. Vo Van Kiet
Vo Van Kiet, born in 1922 in Vinh Long Province, was a prominent Vietnamese politician and reformist leader. During the Vietnam War, he served as a political officer for the National Front for the Liberation of South Vietnam. After the war, he became the Communist Party chief in Ho Chi Minh City from 1976 to 1982. As Prime Minister from 1991 to 1997, Kiet spearheaded economic reforms, transitioning Vietnam towards a market economy and fostering international relations. He passed away in 2008.
